What Is Ultrasonic Lipo?
Ultrasonic Liposuction, or Ultrasound-assisted liposuction, is a less invasive form of Liposuction that uses super high frequency sound waves to liquefy unwanted fat, making it easier to remove.
This procedure is considered to be safer and more effective than traditional Liposuction, because only one “injection” is required, and less force must be used by the doctor, resulting in him being less fatigued during the procedure.
The Ultrasonic Liposuction procedure has a track record of a quicker recovery time with fewer complications. This advancement in liposuction technology is one of several options provided by Dr. Blinski.
How Is Ultrasonic Lipo Performed?
During Ultrasonic Lipo, a specialized hollow tube, or cannula, emits a high frequency ultrasound, which breaks up the fat tissue and liquefies it. Once liquefied, the fat is easily removed through the cannula with a suction device, an aspirator. The procedure takes longer than traditional Liposuction, but with less chance of complications, due to less effort needed by the surgeon during the procedure, who is less likely to tire or use to much force in moving the cannula around.
What Happens After Surgery?
The anesthesia fluid infused into the fatty tissue greatly reduces any pain following surgery. This greatly minimizes postoperative pain. After Ultrasonic Lipo, patients are usually alert and able to function. Most people return to work and normal activities within a few days of their Ultrasonic Lipo procedure, although some have taken over a week to recover. Compression garments are typically worn for several weeks, less than with Traditional Liposuction.
