The Neck Lift Procedure
A Neck Lift must be performed under some kind of anesthesia. The most common choices for a browlift are IV sedation and general anesthesia.
During the procedure, Dr. Blinski makes a pair of incisions underneath or behind both ears, loosens the skin of the neck, and then re-drapes it. He’ll finish by removing any excess skin. In some cases, a part of the platysma muscle may need to be removed first. Dr. Blinski will then both rearrange and tighten the rest of the muscle, improving the look of the throat area.
Finally, Dr. Blinski will close the incisions with sutures before applying a pressure dressing around the length of your head underneath your chin.
Neck Lift Recovery
After undergoing neck lift surgery, someone will need to take you home and remain with you for a minimum of 24 hours.
The length of your head and your chin will be taped with a pressure dressing. Patient’s generally experience mild to moderate discomfort and pain, especially along the neck in general. Most importantly, you must try to keep your neck and head still after a Neck Lift.
